Course Overview

The Institute Of Chartered Accountants Of India (ICAI) Is The National Professional Accounting Body Of India. It Was Established On 1 July 1949 As A Body Corporate Under The Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 Enacted By The Parliament (Acting As The Provisional Parliament Of India) To Regulate The Profession Of Chartered Accountancy In India.

CA CPT

Common Proficiency Test (CPT)

CPT is entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course, CPT is Held twice a year in the Month of June and December.

Eligibility

* Any Student who has passed 10th exam can register for CPT.

* All those students who have registered with the CA Institute and passed/ appeared for the 10 +2 or (PUC) exam can give the CPT Exam.

Registration Process

1. A Student is required to apply in the prescribed form.

2. A Student may buy prospectus remitting Rs. 100 in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The Application form is available in the Prospectus.

Documents required for Registration of CA CPT

1. Demand draft of Rs. 6,000/- In favor of “The Secretary ICAI” Payable at Chennai

2. Copy of 10th Pass mark sheet, attested by CA.

3. One color Passport size photo.

4. The form after duly filled up shall be delivered by hand to the ICAI branch or to be

5. sent by registered post at Address given below :

* 31st March for June Attempt

Exam Details

The Question paper will consists of Objective type questions with negative marking of 0.25 for wrong answers.

Passing Requirements

* If a Student writes 120 correct answers he cannot fail. Reason is 120×1 Mark each = 120 Marks,

* 80 wrong answer i.e. 80×0.25 = 20 Marks,

* Correct answers – Negative Marking = Passing Requirements (120-20)= 100 i.e. Pass

Result Date: 2nd Week of July/2nd week of January

CA IPCC

* IPCC is Integrated Professional Competency Course

* IPCC is the Second level of CA Course

* IPCC held twice a year in the month of May and November

Eligibility

* Join Intermediate IPCC/ATC after passing CPT

* After Commerce Graduation/Post Graduation (55%) or other Graduation/Post Graduation (60%)

* Candidates who have passed the Intermediate level examination of CMA or CS

Exam Details

It is Descriptive type examination.
The Subjects of Intermediate (IPCC) are classified into two groups which a student can study and appear in the examination group wise or both the groups together.

Passing Requirements

* Minimum 40 marks in each subject and Minimum 50% aggregate

* Student will get exemption if he score more than 60 marks in any subject

Result Date: Last week of July/ Last week of January

Scheme of IPCC (CPT Route)

* Enroll for Group I or Group II or for both groups of IPCC on passing the CPT Exam

* Complete 9 months of Study Course from the date of IPCC registration

* Complete Orientation Course of one week spanning (35 hrs)

* Complete Information Technology Training (100 hrs)

* Appear and Pass in Inter Exams (Group – I has 4 Papers, Group – II has 3 Papers.)

* Register for 3 years Article ship Training on passing either Group I or both the Groups of IPCC

Scheme of IPCC Direct Entry

Students can directly enter in the Article ship of 3 years period after completing:

* The Orientation Course of one week spanning (35 hrs)

* The Information Technology Training (100 hrs)

 

CA Final

1. Final is the Third level of CA Course

2.CA Final held twice a year in the month of May and November

* After clearing IPCC , Article ship , ITT & GMCS

Scheme for CA Final

* Appear and pass both group of CA Final exam during last 6 months of articled training after completion of Both groups of CA Inter / IPCC.

* Complete 3 years of Articled Training

* Complete GMCS ( 15 days )

* Enroll as a member of ICAI and designate as Chartered Accountant
